GHAZALS

A significant corpus of work in Urdu literature is the ghazal. It carries the tradition of Urdu poetry into the modern era, and thanks in large part to the film, its appeal genuinely has no bounds. Many languages have attempted to adopt this technique and have produced lovely ghazals in their own languages after being inspired by Urdu ghazals. Examples of how it has blossomed in another tongue include the Hindi ghazals. New compositional themes and styles have emerged as a result.
